A patient-centered approach
During my training at Hospital Fray Bernardino Álvarez, I had the privilege of working with an extraordinary variety of clinical cases — from psychiatric emergencies to long-term outpatient follow-up. Each experience reinforced a single conviction: behind every diagnosis is a unique individual whose story deserves to be heard and understood.
In my Tijuana office, I combine the diagnostic rigor of my UNAM training with a deeply patient-centered approach. I follow the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria used by the American Psychiatric Association, ensuring my care meets the same standards as a U.S. psychiatrist — but with the time, attention, and accessibility that the U.S. system often cannot offer.
For my patients from California, I offer fully bilingual care at no extra cost, and I understand the particularities of living between two cultures, two healthcare systems, and two languages. Every consultation — initial, follow-up, or online — lasts a full 60 minutes. Not the rushed 15-minute medication check that has become standard north of the border.
