What to expect when you arrive
Your initial consultation lasts a full 60 minutes — not the rushed 15 minutes typical in the U.S. Here's what the experience looks like from start to finish.
Arrival and Check-In
Park at New City Medical Plaza's underground garage (available to patients). Take the elevator to the 25th floor, Suite 24. The reception area is quiet, private, and clearly marked. No long forms — we already have your basic information from your initial WhatsApp or email exchange.
60-Minute Comprehensive Evaluation
The full hour is yours. We'll cover your complete psychiatric history, current symptoms, lifestyle factors, previous treatments, family history, and treatment goals. I follow DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria — the same standards used by U.S. psychiatrists — so the language and approach will be familiar to anyone working with U.S. providers.
Personalized Treatment Plan
At the end of the visit, you'll leave with a clear diagnostic assessment and a personalized treatment plan — including medication recommendations only when clinically necessary, lifestyle adjustments, and a clear roadmap for follow-up. No pressure to start medication; we discuss all options openly.
Documentation You Can Use
A digital consultation summary arrives in your email within 24 hours. If medication is prescribed, you can fill it at a pharmacy in Zona Río before heading back across the border — most psychiatric medications cost significantly less in Mexico. We also provide detailed superbills with ICD-10 codes for potential PPO insurance reimbursement.

What to Bring
Bring these items to make your first visit smooth and productive:
- Valid photo ID (passport, driver's license, INE, or any government-issued ID)
- List of current medications including doses and how long you've been taking them — psychiatric and non-psychiatric
- Previous psychiatric records if available (recent evaluations, hospital discharges, prescriptions)
- Recent lab work if you have it (thyroid panel, vitamin B12, vitamin D — relevant for psychiatric workups)
- A family member or trusted friend who knows your symptoms, if you'd like additional perspective (optional)
- Any specific questions you want to address — writing them down helps make the most of the hour
Payment & Insurance
Transparent pricing with no surprise fees. All consultations are 60 minutes:
- Initial visit: $125 USD ($2,200 MXN)
- Follow-up visit: $105 USD ($1,800 MXN)
- Online telepsychiatry: $125 USD (60 min via Google Meet)
- Payment due at the time of visit — no deposit required to book
- Insurance: We do not bill insurance directly. We provide detailed superbills with ICD-10 codes and CPT codes that many patients submit for out-of-network reimbursement under PPO plans
